With ChangeWorq’s analytical tools and techniques, we can create the right blend of work-settings so your people can perform at their best, by recognising the differences in working style between teams. Every step of the way, ChangeWorq will actively engage your people to deliver the best design and change outcome.

Workplace Trends

We’re living in really interesting times.  Over the last 15 years, technology has provided us with the tools to work and interact both in and outside the traditional office.

In parallel, we are experiencing major cultural changes.  New generations of workers have very different attitudes to how and where they work, and very different ideas on how to share information and collaborate.

The combination of these factors, plus pressures on cost and sustainability, mean we can rethink how much space we need and how we use it.  ChangeWorq can help you navigate this important journey.

Business Vision

It’s very common for new office projects or renovations to be dominated by real estate and space planning metrics.  As important as these are, to achieve great results, you need to understand what your business is trying to achieve and how to empower your business and its people to work towards your business vision.

It’s vital to start by defining strategic business needs and then progress to the design and layout.  This is the only way to deliver the best outcome; a design that connects to your business and your people.

Understanding and measuring the reality of how people work is essential if you are re-thinking your office design.  This is particularly true if you are examining a shift to more collaborative working.

Measuring how people work, varies across and within teams.  Having data helps staff to move beyond their perceptions and fear of change.  This creates a more informed conversation about the opportunities for change and increase the probability of success

ChangeWorq’s analytical tools and techniques enable us to create the right mix of work-settings and to make the case for change.

While measurements are vital, it’s just as important to engage with staff so there is active participation in every stage of the discovery, design and change process.

ChangeWorq’s very experienced facilitators can drive the engagement process using a mix of techniques, including face to face interviews, workshops, online surveys etc.

Managing this process is a critical success factor, and ChangeWorq can help you to deliver the best design and change outcome.

Design Briefing

Design Briefing

Ensure precise translation of your business aspirations, strategy and functional requirements, into your workplace design. With any complex project, the outcome is directly linked to the quality of the initial brief. ChangeWorq can be the interface between designers and users to ensure the team delivers against the brief.

 Aspirational & Functional Brief

With any complex project, the outcome is directly linked to the quality of the initial brief.
In the ChangeWorq process, the brief normally comprises 2 parts:

1) Aspirations of the business and readiness for change
2) Functional requirements of each team

It's critical to establish the strategy and requirements well before the design team starts work.  The brief keeps everyone aligned to the same set of objectives, ensures there is a common understanding and agreement between all contributors, which in turn avoids misunderstandings and impacts to the project schedule.

Design Process Management

Once the design process starts, it's essential to keep the business engaged so that feedback can be provided at the right times. This is accomplished via a design committee, operating within project governance and decision-making guidelines.

This design committee is an essential conduit of information from the project team to staff and vice versa.  The committee helps
to ensure ongoing communication to build and maintain excitement.

ChangeWorq has many years of experience with this process and can be the interface between the designers and users.  This is particularly important when workplace change is being planned; ChangeWorq can manage the messaging, maintaining consistency throughout the duration of the project.

Design Communication

With complex projects, open and clear communication is critical to keep staff up to date and connected to the project progress.

ChangeWorq is experienced in implementing communications programmes, using a variety of channels to keep staff fully informed, such as a mix of town-hall meetings, workshops, emails and intranet or microsite setups etc.

Change Management

Change Management

Any Change process is complex, and some people react better than others. We help to bring your people along the Change journey to create positive business change beyond the physical workplace. ChangeWorq can guide the leaders in your organisation to create positive change and enable a trust-based culture.

Principles Of Effective Change

The Change Management process is misunderstood and often oversimplified.  Our working definition is as follows: “The process of understanding future organisational needs, by engaging with stakeholders and creating a roadmap to move from the current state to the agreed future state”

Any change process is complex and some people will react better than others. People have different levels of appetite and ability (knowledge) for change as shown in the first image.

The next image shows how we progress through the process of change and get from the old to the new.

While everyone will pass through each of these stages; some will proceed through the process faster than others.  The role of the Change Manager is to reduce the depth and duration of the Risk Zone shown in the image.

Change Toolkit

Having established the organisational needs and created a plan for change, next, we develop the Change Toolkit which describes the changes with a clear explanation of the reasons for and the benefits of the change. This toolkit is used to communicate and guide the business through the journey from the current to agreed future state.

Change Mentoring

In many cases, business leaders and managers may not have considered how workplace change can result in broader organisational impacts.  We work with managers on a one-to-one or group basis to help them understand how spatial change can have a positive impact on how their team functions and interacts with other teams.  We help them to create a trust-based culture, enabling staff to be more effective and deliver better business outcomes.
